Karthäuserhof, since year 1335
In July I had a pleasure to visit world's 8th oldest winery. The winery Karthäuserhof is situated in beautiful Ruver Valley, Trier, Germany.
They have been producing Riesling wines in a same tradional way in the area since 1335. First for about 500 years by munks and since 1811 by a single family, name Behler.
During my visit I got to taste several of their wines and had the pleasure to compare different vintages and to understand how well Rieslings can age. Winery has 2 lines: Karthäuserhof and Bruno.
Both bottled in beautiful dark green glass.
I also learned how well these wines suit with various food or how great they are just like that.
Cheers to great German wines!
